"Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful."
-Annette Funicello
This Post might lead to: 1- continuous insult and comments
2- A total shock leading to a heart attack
3- A total absurdity to your nervous system so you might have to read the post twice or blink several times
4- Me being exiled
But I was honest when I said in my first post (Intro)…I will reveal nothing but the facts…NOBODY knows Saudi Arabia except Saudi themselves ( i.e Saudis that live in the country)…The country is a closed one (personally I like it this way) The people will not open their homes to other communities…even less to foreigners…Therefore you have people like me…That are less reserved…. and more down to earth to tell you things exactly how they are…to open a door so that you can take a glance inside…For you to know…to think and analyze by yourself… without brain washing…to learn…and stop talking nonsense and being ignorant…
Media can talk all they want…Books can be printed by dozens from western authors…Clichés can be invented by the minute…even a foreigner that lived here for 45 years will not know the deepest of the deep....the truest of the truth… The homes…The families...The friction…The thoughts…The traditions…The history…The education…The life style…The real thing…The Saudi thing…
I agree it is not a very flattering subject…But it exists and should be said…Saudi Arabia like many countries of the world have a homosexual community whether it is male or female…But Saudi Arabia NOT like many countries keep it behind closed doors…But you can easily notify some of them with the following details: They have a sparkling white "Thob"* that screams Ariel Ultra intensive…Their moustache or gotties are perfect not a hair surpasses the other…They are usually extremely handsome…Their hands are soft…Their lips are pink and full…Their walk is posed, classy…Their voice is a low toned one…every week they have a day where they meet each other in a chosen place to do some harmless flirtation that might lead later on to a less harmless flirtation…How do I know? I was caught up in one of those places….In a Mall to be exact…I was surprised to find so many men…so many handsome men that is in one place…after a long long long looooong while I understood…( I could've walked around naked they wouldn't notice)…
* The traditional dress for men
The women on the other hand tend to have short boyish hair…several piercings…beautiful girlfriends…a lot of guy friends…Masculine walk…grave voice since a lot of them tend to be smokers…. sun or eye glasses on the tip of their noses…baggy jeans, bandanas with funky wide designer "Abbayas"** These are the obvious ones of course there are the less obvious…
** The traditional dress for women
How did it come to this…well it is NOT genetics…might be out of boredom or being extremely spoiled…might be a pshycological shock when a child...might be contacts are more with the same sex..(But that is not really an excuse since abroad you have contact with the opposite sex ALL the time…and they have as much homosexuals than here if not more…hmmmm…maybe that is why they turn gay…It is too easy and nothing is taboo anymore) anyway back to what I was saying…the other option is they were maybe raped in bathrooms and schools…it is horrid but it is true…Boys are much more vulnerable to this than girls…
Anyway the end result is they are gay…some families might not know about it…Some families do and have a terrible response to it…and some families (which is the majority) pretend they didn't notice and are happy as long as they obey by the rules, are respectful of society and culture***…i.e they get married, have children and live normally keeping their "other" life in the secrecy of the nights…
*** Of course as you all know homosexuality is forbidden in the Islamic religion (like in most religions) and if get caught might lead to death penalty…if get caught! (which happens very rarely)
My post isn't about gays but the response to people or specifically women to gay men (Cause the response of men to gay women isn't really an example since all they can think about is she and her girlfriends!!!! ) Like I said earlier a lot of homosexuals get married…and get married young (when they still can :p) 90% of the time the brides to be know and do not mind…Actually they have become in fashion…you will see why shortly…
Just the other day I was at a friend's wedding and her husband was as gay as it gets….."Jawad Ali"**** gay …I was in a state of shock....It was like the bride and the……..bride……..:p She on the other hand looked like she hadn't a care in the world…
****a famous singer in our country that looks and sounds completely gay…even George Michael appears manlier in front of him!
Gay men in Saudi Arabia (and other Middle Eastern countries) have a strong feeling of guilt…when they get married they feel very obliged to their wives for accepting them as they are…and when I say very obliged…I mean very veeeeeeeeeery obliged….They are generous to her needs and her wishes…She can be free to do whatever she wants with whomever she wants……They can help her out if she is a career woman in this man oriented country…They advise her and make great friends…They love her to death since she is and will be the ONLY woman in his life…They are so amazed in bringing children to the world that they are like a mother hen with her chicks……and THAT is why they are extremely in fashion…..Personally I have another wedding of that sort next week!!!!
In the end, these women can do whatever they want….BUT this girl right here is sticking to real men for now….!!!!!! x x x x

I agree ... although we must differentiate a bit between molestation that leads to homosexuality and homosexuality itself .. in the end they are the same pot .. the difference is the road that led to it ... and our country isn't any less human than any out there ... and to error is human ... i do not defend homosexuality in anyway as a concept ,, im a strong beleiver in my religion and its prohibitions ,, i just believe that you cant in any way force the ppl not to decay ... and for homosexuality to spread is decay to me ... decay of the human moral/mental fabric ,,,, a thing which religion and morals try to improve ... nevertheless ,,, what counts in the end is one thing ,,, the authentic article ,.. the thing which shaped up the life around us for better or worse and will continue doing just that... the thing that makes the world go round and round ... through wars, politics, religions, money, history,,,, the plain continuation of life in its ups and downs is bound to be done by this bieng through the order of the divine ,, this thing is man ,,. with the help of the enchanted female ,,, the plain regular heterosexual male.. aha.. ain't he something :P .. straight men should be more proud rather than bieng the 'old' thing ,,, im thankful that many girls and women out there still are sweet enough to be sane and go straight! ,,, allah yr7am el7al bs :( ,,,...,,, nice post as always ,,,.. wish rayik asawwi lh tarjama? :| ..amza7 la tit2azzamain :P ..... thanks sweety for the interesting read + mind my extra-long comment :| i feel like its my blog not yours,, it feels like home :) thats a nice thing i guess ,,,, keep it coming ..,,.
You have a very interesting perspective on things. Unique.
I'm glad I'm getting to read your blog for the first time and I'm also glad to say I'm officially hooked :-)
You're on my "Blogs I'm addicted to" list as of 2 seconds ago :P
I very much agree with what u say, its not only in saudi arabia but all over the gulf. Gays are now becoming more and more open, espically in places like bahrain where many gay meetings take place, even reported inprop marriages.
Love ur style in writing.
I agree with most of what you say, but I'm not convinced that there is not a genetic influence involved in homosexuality. Study of identical twins--including those separated at birth--strongly suggests there there is some genetic thing going on, as both twins, male or female, tend to be either straight or gay, not one of each.
Social and religious attitudes are something else. As long as 'gayness' is seen as an option that one has chosen, then society can condemn people for making the wrong choices. If it's not a matter of choice, then you end up with far more complicated questions. Like: does God create beings who are intended from birth to be shunned, shamed, and punished?
That picture of a God is not the one most people recognize.
It's not just in the KSA where straight women marry gay men. It happens in the US, too. The reasoning may be a little different, though. It was not very long ago when gays had to stay in the closet (hidden) if they wanted to achieve any professional success outside the arts. It's still the rule in the US military that gays can't be open about their gayness lest they be dismissed. Getting married helps keep it hidden.
unbiased najdi:if you want to translate...go ahead...I would love to see their faces...lol.. it is your blog as well...where would I be without you guys's comments....keep it up x x x

Twix: I didn't know that..wow so Bahrain is in Kuwait's footsteps now..interesting...keep it up x x x ...
john: really interesting...well they are still searching for that "gay" gene...Not happening anytime soon...but I agree that environment influences big time...poor military guys of yours....keep it up x x x
There is certainly a biological component in homosexuality, but that apart, I am not surprised that gay Saudi men make such great husands. I have often speculated that if I was coerced into an accepting an arranged marriage, it would be easiest with a gay guy that I could be friends with, and we could both "do our own thing" with no jealousy on either side.
did it ever occur to you to learn something factually, as opposed to relating anecdotal experiences?? sorry - but much evidence points to genetics in point BEING the reason homosexuality exists. There is new research indicating that it also occurs more in large families - with multiple sons, and increases in probability with descending birth order, i.e. the youngest sons are more likely to be gay.
Regarding a woman choosing a gay person as her husband to benefit materially and emotionally (by "blackmailing" and being the "front") That is pathetic and shows the abysmal state of saudi society. Something will always be missing from these marriages, and the risk of unintentional disease transmission is quite high. It's particulary sad if children are involved. What will it teach them about the way men and women interact in marriage??
Wow, sorry to rant. I've been in the USA for awhile. Here such marriages rarely work, cuz it's too hard to live a lie. You can try to justify it all you want, but both parties would be happier if they were honest.
I'm not going to identify myself as najdiya or whatever, cuz it's ultimately a bunch of bullshit, but i am from the arabian peninsula. LOL. Hope you don't mind my using so much space.
Nothing beats the Black & Blue Festival here in Montreal for blatant homosexuality. It's a huge gay party that lasts all weekend, once a year. Check these pictures (nothing illegal or immoral).
Somehow I don't think you'll be seeing anything like this in Saudi Arabia for a while...
Abu-Issa
gay or not gay would be okay for me as long as they keep their hands off me! lol.
secretdubai: wow...good for you...as long as you know what you want...I admire that...keep it up x x x
mariam: ?????!!!!!
Abu Issa: no I don't think THAT would be happening anytime soon here...P.S: talk about a party...lol...But it does happen in a lot of countries in the world I guess..keep it up x x x
someguyfromplanet: I hear that...lol x x x
N.B: people again there is NO "gay gene"..there is a a selfish gene...a beauty gene..an IQ gene even a virtue gene...I do not deny they are doing some research on it...but no definite results yet..I absolutely agree that environment...education...childhood.parents..do influence...so please..keep your scientific knowledge updated...thanks x x x
"Gay gene" researcher Dean Hamer was asked by Scientific American if homosexuality was rooted solely in biology. He replied: "Absolutely not. From twin studies, we already know that half or more of the variability in sexual orientation is not inherited. Our studies try to pinpoint the genetic factors...not negate the psychosocial factors."
7adda akoo alot of gays bil GULF!:P
i wanna marry a gay man! ;)
sugarcoma said "i wanna marry a gay man! ;)"
woooohooo sugarcoma! I'm gay I'm gay! :D
btw, here's my theory of gayness.
I believe a man becomes a gay because he really really realizes he is a handsome guy. I mean wherever he goes there are women who'll die to have him or sleep with him. Though he will pretend innocent by saying, "o really? I don't realize that..." when a woman say he's cute or attractive, he knows deep inside he's very dangerous to female species.
And when he meets another man with the same quality, in a mall for example, he will admire that man as he admires himself. They both will be looking at each other, smilling, admiring the same potentials they both share. That will create the feeling "you and I are the same".
This feeling will create sense of warmth between the two. The feeling of the same experience that "I believe he understands that women are pin in the ass and cheap and demanding and cruel when being rejected. Women are not safe for sensitive men like us". This kinda man will feel they shared the same fate and cute men like them will emotionally understand each other.
And when this keeps happening many times, there will be a point when the man will ask himself, "Is it ok being a gay?" Some men will say, "no way!!!" and deny his feeling, some will say, "why not?"
And gay can marry a woman, yes, as he can love anyone or anything regardless his partner sexuality. But the feeling of warmth and sense of belonging can only be gain when he's with his own kind.
well that's my theory.
kisha: well thanks for figuring that out...lol...keep it up x x x
sugarcoma: wow I really admire you girls...who said you can't have your cake and eat it too...lol..keep it up x x x
someguyfomplanet: you know what your theory is not bad at all...which may refer to the fact of being "extremely spoiled" whether is with the over admiration of girls...or the fact they tried everything out there...(and god knows we have a lot of those here) keep it up x x x
